Our Tioman Island open water diving course will teach you the essential SCUBA diving skills you will need to stay alive and well when diving into the ocean depths. As a PADI certified training facility, we will teach you important skills like regulator recovery (how to replace a knocked out regulator without drowning), mask clearing (how to continue diving if your mask fills with water) maskless breathing (how to not drown if you lose your mask) alternate air source use (how to tell your buddy you are out of air and breathe their air) air depletion (getting used to the feeling of oxygen deprivation) cramp removal (how to survive cramps) and most important of all, CESA (Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent), which you will need when you have lost your buddy, have only one breath of air left, and you are trapped several meters beneath the surface.
CESA will teach you how to ascend at a safe, controlled pace, exhaling or screaming on the way up, so as to prevent nitrogen narcosis, decompression sickness (DCS), arterial embolisms and barotrauma that is beyond acceptable levels. Here at Aman Tioman Diving Center, learning SCUBA diving isn’t just perfectly one hundred percent safe, it’s also good fun too!
